Pictures are here! Also just to let everyone know that the town is preparing for an evacuation this weekend if the fires get too close. We are apparently expecting a lot of lightening in the area over the next couple days. They have pulled fire fighters from other areas to come up here just in case. Fingers crossed that that doesn't happen though. Our facility might be evacuated some of the highest needs residents tomorrow to other parts of the territory to make it easier if we do have to evacuate.
Anyways... on with the happy stuff! To start, here is the picture of how smokey it has been here:
Here is a couple of the Pelican Rapids area. The picture doesn't give the rapids justice.. they are incredibly fast and crazy:
Here is one of a landslide that happened along the hike down to the rapids:
Here is one of myself, Alex and another pilot (I won't say her name because it is unique and if she googles her name I don't want her to stumble upon me posting pictures haha... paranoid much?):
Last but not least here is a picture of a couple crib boards that were given to me. They are hand made by a guy in town. One is for my dad because he does Ironman's (it's the ironman logo) and the other is a polar bear... pretty sweet:
Finally.. here is an article talking about how great Fort Smith is. It was in the Globe and Mail... happy reading!
